I worked as an Associate for ConsultQA on a combined transition and integration project for a Cheltenham based company. PKL are a world leading catering infrastructure provider who provide temporary kitchens for large scale events such as the Olympics.
PKL currently hold separate certificates to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, these have been achieved at different times as the business has grown over the last 29 years. This has led to three different sets of documentation with a significant amount of duplication between the separate management systems.
The original project was to transition ISO 9001 and 14001 to the new 2015 standards, however after 2 days on site and having held the Leadership Briefing with the Senior Management Team, we agreed to extend the scope of the project to fully integrate all three management systems. I also reviewed the existing method of carrying out separate management reviews which were held in isolation away from the regular business management meetings. I reviewed the agendas of these existing meetings and with a few additional agenda items the requirements of all three standards can be met. This is a big improvement as it is more efficient, effective and also encourages the integration of health, safety, quality and environmental issues into the daily management of the business.
