Quality management system implementation project

I worked with Kongsberg Norcontrol Ltd on behalf of ConsultQA to implement a Quality Management System meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 in a very short time frame.

Kongsberg Norcontrol Ltd (known as KNC UK) has a complex structure of Norwegian parent companies with a global presence in the defence, maritime, oil, gas, fishing and aerospace sectors. The global company already held certification to ISO 9001:2008 with a thoroughly documented QMS, starting with Policies, Directives and Processes from the ultimate parent, which are then tailored to the operations of the next subsidiary company and referred to as Procedures. During the project we reviewed all the relevant documents from both levels against the requirements of the 2015 standard and the activities of KNC UK before writing a summary manual which describes how the relevant procedures are implemented in the UK.

A fundamental prerequisite of the project was the minimisation and simplification of documentation – we managed to fulfil all requirements of ISO 9001:2015 with the production of 3 additional documents (policy statement, manual, context analysis) and cross referencing to a carefully chosen selection of documents from the parent companies.

The team at KNC UK were committed to the process from the very start of the project and were a pleasure to work with – ConsultQA and I were very pleased to receive the following feedback from the Managing Director:

“We intentionally set demanding implementation timescales and Helen delivered. Not only did she and ConsultQA deliver but they did so in a highly professional and enjoyable manner. A job well done.”
