It turns out there are a lot of C’s to choose from! Context, Continual Improvement, Consultation, Cooperation, Change Management, Creativity… In the end I decided to go with Communication as I think it is one of the most important factors in the success of any management system implementation project. 

Without effective and inclusive communication between all the people involved in or affected by the business, the information going into the planning stage of the management system could well be misleading (or wrong) and could result in ineffective (or wrong) decision making. 

Effective communication in business can take various forms including written, verbal and visual as includes more than what you say, the way you say it as well as what you don’t say! Good communication is critical to both everyday business operations (hazards, risks and control measures) as well as achieving longer term, strategic aims.
