Successful ISO 9001:2015 Implementation Project

Grace and Green products spotted out ‘in the wild’ in the toilets at another one of our clients!

It has been a pleasure to work with the small team at Eco Hygiene Care Ltd to implement a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. Eco Hygiene Care Ltd are a fascinating company which designs, manufactures and sells period and other sustainable living products to both individual consumers and direct to businesses under the brand name Grace & Green

The CEO and founder, Fran, spent over a decade in the water and sanitation sector specialising in environmental management and international development. Having witnessed first-hand how conventional period products impact our water systems, rivers and coastlines (and the wider environment around us) she knew that a solution had to be found. After 3 years of intense research and product development, she launched Grace & Green in 2019 with The Essentials Collection – 100% certified organic and plastic-free period products.

Eco Hygiene Care Ltd wanted to tender for opportunities to provide period products to the NHS and government departments and needed to hold certification to ISO 9001:2015 to be able to do so. The company also needed to gain certification in quite a tight time frame to meet the tender deadlines!

We started working with Fran and the team in July 2022 and started the project by carrying out a full gap analysis. We then put together a set of Management Information including SWOT analysis, risk register, objectives and governance plan, we also documented some key processes and wrote a Quality Manual to record all the information in a readily accessible way. We were then ready for the certification body Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits to take place in December, the Stage 2 audit went very smoothly and Eco Hygiene Care Ltd passed with no findings which is an excellent result.

David and I were very pleased to receive the following testimonial from Fran:

Working with Helen and David at HKW Risk Management played a pivotal role in guiding us to achieve ISO 9001 certification. Their expertise and support not only helped us meet the certification requirements but also provided us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on our business's growth and achievements. Implementing more robust quality management systems into our operations has been a game-changer for us. We're grateful for their partnership and the positive impact it's had on our business.

Since the quality management implementation project, Eco Hygiene Care Ltd have become a B Corporation with a score of 146.5, making them the highest scoring B Corp in organic-certified period care and ranked in the top 10% of B Corps globally. They have also issued their first impact report which you can read here.
