ISO 14001:2015 is the Environmental Management System standard and is becoming more and more in demand as customers (and wider society) expect businesses to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable. ISO 14001 sets out the requirements and criteria for an environmental management system such as a written policy statement describing your businesses approach to environmental management. A key part of ISO 14001 is identifying the environmental impacts from your business activities, i.e. the effect your business is having on the environment, such as emitting carbon from your vehicle fleet, or producing waste from your manufacturing process, or using electricity in your office or warehouse. Once you have identified these aspects, you can begin to manage them to reduce your impact on the wider environment.
