Successful extension to scope audit!

Another abstract one – this time a close up of some smart new sweeping brushes for the Scarab mechanical sweepers used by the Street Cleansing team to clean the roads and pavements of Bristol.

I have been working with Bristol Waste Company on behalf of ConsultQA to extend the scope of their ISO 9001:2015 certification to include the Household Waste Recycling Centres and Street Cleansing operations. Some of you may remember that ConsultQA and I worked with BWC earlier this year to implement the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system which originally covered the recycling, refuse and transfer station operations.

The ‘extension to scope’ project included site visits to both Household Waste Recycling Centres and to both Street Cleansing depots, I carried out an internal audit on all four sites and we held a Management Review meeting with the Directors and the relevant Operations Managers towards the end of the project. We also updated the scope and policy statements as well as the manual to include these new services.

Approachable Certification carried out the extension to scope visit and bi-annual surveillance over three days and we were very pleased to receive a positive report with no findings or non-conformities.

Chris Lewton of ConsultQA and I were also very pleased to receive the following feedback from Gwen Frost, Development & Sustainability Manager:

Helen was a pleasure to work with and her thorough preparation was a testament to our extension to scope being accredited with no non-conformances. No pressure on the next project then Helen!

Our next project begins in January 2018 and is a full implementation and integration of ISO 14001:2015 into the existing quality management system covering all BWC operations and services.

Read case study.
